Donor Development

Developing existing donors is a core element of fundraising, and this is not purely about increasing income, but also maximising retention and promoting supporter loyalty.

One of the most successful campaigns that NTT has been involved in is the pioneering of the Welcome Strategy, which initially involved purely a welcome call, but can now utilise a variety of new media as well.

Research has shown that thanking supporters for becoming a donor will reduce attrition and will help to build a strong relationship. The welcome call should ideally be done as soon as possible to increase the impact and ensure the support appreciates the importance and significance of their regular gift.

NTT has extensive experience in succesful uplift campaigns. We will work with you to devise a strategy that will not only generate additional income but also further engage your supporters.

We also have experience conducting multiple uplifts, where supporters have been asked several times over the past years. We use alternative asks and drop asks to ensure that the supporter feels valued and reacts well to hearing from the charity. We also run rolling uplift campaigns and implement long term uplift strategies.

This campaign is to contact supporters who have not been part of any tax recovery before and ask them to gift aid their support. Regular givers, one off cash donors or even lapsed supporters can be included. A Gift Aid campaign is also an excellent means of cleansing and updating the database for future activity.

The strategy of telephone Legacy campaigns is to uncover existing legators in addition to “planting the seed” with supporters about leaving a lasting legacy to the charity. These campaigns have a very soft ask & are not financially targeted due to the sensitive nature of the call. The overall objective is one of assisting the organisation in understanding & segmenting the donor base, in particular for future marketing events. This campaign usually occurs on the back of a mailing as a follow up call to non responders and NTT are also happy to assist in the creative for the pre-mailing.

NTT are at the forefront of new media development.  We utilise different communication media within single campaigns, including emails and SMS alongside the telephone campaigns to give truly integrated communication strategies. This can be used as part of acquisition or donor development campaigns and NTT is continuing to develop these new media strategies with our charity partners.
